The Ford Focus was Ford's small-car mainstay in Australia, offered across hatch, wagon and performance variants over multiple generations. It earned a reputation for strong dynamics, with the Focus ST and RS giving the badge serious enthusiast credibility. The Focus is no longer sold new locally as Ford has shifted attention to Ranger, Everest, Mustang, electric models and commercial vehicles. For buyers considering existing examples, the Focus remains a capable small car with better steering and chassis balance than many mainstream alternatives. Practicality, safety and technology vary by generation, but the core appeal is consistent: a European-developed hatchback that feels more interesting to drive than the class average.
