Chinese auto brand Chery returned to Australia in early 2023 after an eight-year hiatus, following its original launch here via an independent distributor in 2011 and its subsequent departure in 2015.
Chery Australia now sells a broader SUV and electrified-vehicle range than it did at relaunch. Its current local lineup includes the C5 and E5 small SUVs, Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 4 Hybrid, Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid, Tiggo 8 Pro Max and Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid, and Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid.
The brand has also previewed a diesel plug-in hybrid ute for Australia, with production versions expected after the concept and naming-campaign phase rather than as an already-on-sale model.
