GCM is a measure of how much the combination of your vehicle and a trailer can weigh.
Although they may have a 3500kg braked towing capacity, most vehicles can’t tow 3500kg if they’re carrying four people and their luggage as that additional payload, combined with the weight of the trailer, will take the vehicle above its maximum GCM.
