The high-end tuning wizards at Brabus have made what is possibly the world’s most badass dual-cab ute – one based on the Mercedes-AMG G63.
Before we get carried away, however, your chances of owning – or even seeing – one are vanishingly close to zero.
The beast is called the Brabus P 900 Rocket Edition “One of Ten”, the latter bit alluding to the total production plan of just 10 cars.
It’s billed as offering “the uncompromising strength of the Brabus XLP [its G63 pickup model] and the confident power of a track-ready supercar brought together for the very first time”.
No doubt.
Power comes from a 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 with 662kW of power (that’s 900hp) and a ridiculous 1250Nm of stump-decimating torque, mated to a nine-speed auto that’s presumably next-level strong.
The ‘Powerview’ bonnet even gives you a see-through hole to look at the powertrain, which Brabus says has been electronically pared-back to 1050Nm in the real world.
Brabus says the beast can hit 100km/h in 3.7 seconds on its way to a 280km/h top speed, which would be higher if it weren’t governed. Brabus claims surprisingly reasonable fuel use of 14.4L/100km.
The Brabus Sport Exhaust System with actively controlled flaps ensures it sounds the part too.
Other highlights include 24-inch ‘Aero-Disc’ forged wheels, RideControl aluminium coilover suspension with adjustable ride heights, and bespoke Continental tyres that measure a massive 355mm wide at the rear.
Inside are leather seats with ‘Seashell Diamond’ quilting, and lashings of ‘Rocket Red’ everywhere – Brabus claims there are 206 individual cockpit elements including trim panels, handles, switches, speaker covers as well as air vents.
