The MG MG4 is a small electric hatchback that helped make battery-electric motoring more accessible in Australia. It targets buyers wanting a practical EV with sharp pricing, useful range and a more engaging drive than many budget-focused alternatives. The MG4's rear-wheel-drive layout, compact footprint and clean cabin give it a distinct character among small electric cars. It appeals to commuters, small households and EV first-timers comparing models from BYD, GWM, Hyundai and Cupra. Its strongest pitch is value without feeling basic: enough range, technology and performance for everyday life, wrapped in a modern hatchback body that is easy to live with.

Jim K. would buy this car again because: “It’s a great car to drive, it's a great price for an EV and it seems to be the best future-proof option at the moment (V2L, V2G, etc). The 10-year warranty on the car and battery was a great selling point, also being able to tow was a must.” How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues. No issues at all (yet). I read about a few…
