About the Jeep Grand Cherokee
Anonymous purchased this Jeep Grand Cherokee new with additional options for $69,990 (including all on-road costs). Anonymous would buy this car again because: “It drives superbly and has been very reliable”.
How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.
I purchased the vehicle in November 2015 and since then have had no issues/breakdowns. It recently has developed an annoying clicking sound under the driver seat when going over bumps, however Jeep have agreed to fix for free at next service.
What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?
The 3 year warranty at the time was a little underwhelming, however was fairly standard back in 2015. Thankfully Jeep have now moved to a 5 year warranty which is good. I have never had a problem with Jeep customer service and have always serviced the vehicle at my local Jeep dealership.
The servicing is a tad expensive however I am aware that all new Jeeps have capped priced servicing now too.
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
The sale was totally trouble-free and very professional. Jeep at West Orange Motors has looked after me and my car very well and have been extremely professional.
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
The Limited, in my opinion, is extremely well equipped (for 2015). Whilst it misses out on some safety features, it gets just about everything else! We paid extra for the upgraded Nappa Leather Seats and the Panoramic Sunroof and I believe that the 5 or so thousand that we spent on those options were totally worth it! I think the resale value could be better, but overall absolutely love the features!
What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?
We decided to go with the 3.6L V6 Petrol option. Whilst we would have loved the diesel, it was a little out of our price range. Overall the 3.6 has been great and is adequately powered. It sounds great too! The fuel economy isn’t amazing, but amazing fuel economy isn’t expected from a V6 Petrol 2 ton SUV!
What do you think of the technology in your car?
The 8.4-inch touchscreen is by far the best in class for 2015. We looked at multiple SUV’s including the Toyota Prado and Kluger and the Jeep was definitely the best for Infotainment. The digital speedo in front of the driver is also great and very clear/easy to see. The sound system is also great.
What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?
Whilst the Grand Cherokee is no sports car, the handling is surprisingly accurate and very easy to judge. It’s not too heavy, nor is it too light. The ride is great too, it is probably on the firmer side of comfortable (with 20 inch wheels) but it is a very comfortable car to travel both long, and short distances in.
