About the Isuzu D-Max
j collins purchased this Isuzu D-Max new for $60,900 (including all on-road costs). j collins would buy this car again because: “Very well priced, brilliant and endlessly reliable driveline, interior at the top for its class in the dual cab utility market. Proven in its class to be a leader, dealer support also of a decent standard and just looks great overall.”
How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.
Overall the vehicle has been great. It’s definitely not a perfect Wednesday-built car but certainly not a Friday afternoon special; very minor issues have arisen and that’s simply due to mass production.
Off cut carpet preventing rear seat from latching correctly is the only major concern, but was immediately rectified on its 3000km service/inspection.
What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?
Ownership experience has been great. Plenty of genuine and aftermarket components and accessories now currently available, great community of owners and due to availability issues the car does stand out in the crowd still. I would definitely buy another D-Max in the future
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
Purchase was made incredibly easy, dealers still left in the dark when it comes to accurate delivery times on certain trim levels.
Aftercare has been great even received contact from the sales person asking about my experience and honestly asking how the vehicle has been.
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
Price point was the main reason for my choice of purchase. Priced well and extremely reliable in the class, features above and beyond its competitors at the time of order/purchase which made it an easy choice to get one of my own.
What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?
Factory performance is slightly less than others in its class, but aftermarket components overcome that slight disappointment in that area fortunately. Economy is on point with tested figures, and with this current fuel pricing it’s a must to prevent disappointment.
What do you think of the technology in your car?
Technology is second to none at the time of purchase, other vehicles in same class haven’t come close as of yet making a utility vehicle feel like a sedan and somewhat special inside.
Still room for improvement as everything has but that will come time with further development.
What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?
Ride and comfort in this trim level of the LS-U is incredible for a leaf-sprung dual cab ute.
The LS-U onwards in the trim levels have softer rear leaf packs for comfort which has definitely put them in a good spot vs other competitors with leaf-sprung rear ends.
