    About James

James has been an avid car enthusiast since the age of 3 when he first played Daytona USA on the Sega Saturn, and kick started his career in automotive journalism as an intern with the Carsales editorial team during the final semester of his journalism degree at Monash University.

After graduating in 2015, James joined the team at CarAdvice where he became a driving force behind the news desk. Building an almost encyclopedic knowledge of vehicle pricing and specifications, James published almost 3,000 news and review articles during his tenure at CarAdvice, and even made Mumbrella's 'Top 20 most prolific web authors in Australia' list in 2019 after publishing 1,360 articles between March 1, 2018 and February 28, 2019.

Before joining his good friends on the CarExpert team, James also tried his hand at automotive PR at Pulse agency as an Automotive Communications Consultant. Here, he assisted Ford Australia's communications team specialising in product communications, gaining invaluable insight into the operations of a vehicle manufacturer.

Outside of work, James is the proud owner of a 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI, lovingly nicknamed 'Freddy' (short for Frederik), is a shameless selfie-taker, loves to attend car meets and socialise with other vehicle owners, as well as a proud supporter of Drive Against Depression – a charity which aims to support mental wellness through the freedom of driving and a shared love of cars.
