About Marton
Marton Pettendy has been an automotive journalist since late 1989, when he dropped out of a journalism degree to become news editor at his favourite magazine, Australian Motor Cycle News (AMCN).Shortly after that he began his not so illustrious career as a motorcycle racer, campaigning 250 and 600cc production bikes with moderate success at state and national level over a decade – like his son in more recent times. He later helped establish Rider magazine, before switching to cars and becoming Auto Action editor in 1996, deputy editor at Motor magazine in 1998, managing editor at GoAuto in 2001 and then managing editor at Carsales in 2012.When he’s not in the managing editor hot seat at CarExpert, Marton is out on his KTM adventure bike and his garage currently contains a 1995 Toyota RAV4, 2012 Subaru Forester, 2017 VFII Holden Ute SS and too many motorcycles and farm machines to list here.
