2018-20 Volvo XC60 recalled for wiper defect

Volvo is recalling 9388 examples of its top-selling XC60 SUV due to a nut in the windshield wiper arm that needs tightening.

A loose nut has led to Volvo issuing a recall for XC60 SUVs from model years 2018 to 2020.

According to the company, the front windshield wiper arm nut wasn’t tightened sufficiently during manufacturing.

“If the front windshield wiper becomes loose, it may cause an unusual noise if the windshield wiper arm should contact the edge of the bonnet,” Volvo says in its recall notice.

“This could lead to reduced or no wiping function which reduces visibility and could increase the risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants or other road users.

“In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.”

    • A total of 9388 vehicles are affected.
    • From model years 2018 to 2020.
