BMW has detailed Australian pricing and specification for the flagship iX M60 electric SUV, designed to compete with the Audi e-tron S, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, and Tesla Model X.
UPDATE, 24/08/22 – BMW Australia has increased the before on-road asking price of its mid-range xDrive50 Sport model by $5000 as part of a wider range price rise.
“BMW constantly reviews its pricing structure throughout the year, taking into consideration a number of different factors,” said a BMW Australia spokesperson.
“However, we always aim to ensure our products remain appropriately positioned and represent a competitive pricing proposition in the market for our customers.”
Set to arrive locally from mid-2022, the 2022 BMW iX M60 is priced from $222,900 before on-road costs.
The rest of the BMW iX range is unchanged in terms of standard specification following its arrival in the fourth quarter of 2021. The four-variant iX range starts at $135,900 before on-road costs.

The iX uses aluminium spaceframe construction and carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) on the roof, rear and sides.
The new BMW Curved Display which puts the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen in one housing is standard across the range. This is populating throughout the larger BMW range.
The touchscreen uses the latest generation of iDrive running BMW OS 8.0 and the navigation system features augmented reality and cloud-based maps.
There’s also a specially composed drive sound composed by Hans Zimmer, while the interior makes extensive use of recycled and natural materials. These include floor coverings made from recycled fishing nets and leather tanned with olive leaf extracts.
