The Hyundai i30 N Drive-N special edition is coming Down Under.
180 examples of the hotted-up hot hatch will make the trip to Australia, while a further 620 have been built for the European market.
Of the 180 cars coming to Australia, 126 will have a dual-clutch transmission and the remaining 54 will be manual. Hyundai says approximately 70 per cent will be finished in Serenity White Pearl, with the remainder finished in black.
Along with the white or black exterior finish, the Drive-N will feature 19-inch forged alloy wheels finished in bronze, black Hyundai badges, unique decals, and Drive-N badging.
The extra badges display the coordinates of the Hyundai Europe Test Centre at the Nurburgring, one of the key places in which the i30 N was developed.
Inside, along with the requisite numbered plaque, there’s swathes of Alcantara. The steering wheel, gear lever, armrest, and hand brake are trimmed in Alcantara, and all the trim pieces and accents are red.
That means you get red seat belts, steering wheel buttons, and red-highlighted seat inserts and stitching, along with unique floor mats.
Like the wider range, it’ll come standard with a full suite of driver assists, and like the range-topping i30 N it’ll also have a glass roof.
Power in the i30 N comes from a 2.0-litre turbo four with 206kW and 392Nm, sent to the front wheels through a choice of six-speed manual or eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Pricing for the Drive-N hasn’t been revealed, but the regular i30 N range tops out at $52,000 before on-road costs with a dual-clutch transmission. The special edition will likely be between $2000 and $3000 pricier than the equivalent i30 N.
