UPDATE, 27/08/2023 – Lexus Australia has adjusted the asking price of some of its UX 300e line-up, as part of a wider range price adjustment.
A Lexus Australia spokesperson told CarExpert the new pricing reflects Luxury Car Tax (LCT) adjustments and “general price increases”.
“Customer orders taken up until May 31 and built during May are protected from the GPI. Vehicles ordered or built from June 1 are subject to the GPI,” a spokesperson from Lexus Australia told CarExpert.
Lexus has subbed out the 54.4kWh battery pack from the 2022 model for a 72.8kWh unit that frees up an additional 135km of claimed range.
The cabin has also been treated to an update, with the inclusion of a larger infotainment touchscreen running updated software, USB-C charge ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay. It’s also now fitted with connected satellite navigation capable of tapping into real-time traffic and parking information.
As is the case elsewhere in the Lexus range, the updated infotainment system supports over-the-air updates. It also now has ‘Hey Lexus’ voice control capable of managing everything from your media to vehicle functions like the sunroof.
There are detail changes to the instrument binnacle and centre console, which have allowed Lexus to create a larger wireless smartphone charge pad.
As with the petrol-powered Lexus UX 200 and UX 250h, the 2023 UX 300e gets a stronger chassis thanks to extra spot welds. The electronic power steering, shock absorbers, and brakes have also been retuned.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
Power in the UX 300e comes from a motor mounted on the front axle, making 150kW of power and 300Nm of torque.
The UX 300e gets a 72.8kWh battery pack for 2023, up from the 54.4kWh battery pack that featured before.
Range has been boosted from 315km to 450km on the WLTP combined test cycle.
The Lexus UX 300e measures 4495mm long, 1840mm wide and 1525mm tall, with a 2640mm wheelbase.
Claimed boot space is 414 litres with the rear seats in place.
The Lexus range is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. The battery is covered for up to 10 years or 160,000 kilometres if its storage capacity falls below 70 per cent.
Lexus offers capped-price servicing of $295 per visit for the first five services, with intervals of 12 months or 15,000 kilometres.
The UX 300e comes with a three-year subscription to the Encore Platinum Electrified program, which includes vehicle loans, access to valet parking vouchers at participating locations, and three years of free charging at ChargeFox public charge stations.
Buyers of the UX300e also receive a professionally installed AC home charger from JET Charge as part of their purchase.
The Lexus UX 300e has a five-star ANCAP safety rating based on testing carried out by Euro NCAP.
It scored 96 per cent for adult occupant protection, 88 per cent for child occupant protection, 82 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 83 per cent for safety assist.
