GWM Australia has announced further discounts across its Ora electric vehicle range (EV), with up to $2000 cut from the Extended Range and GT versions.

The mid-spec 2024 GWM Ora Extended Range has seen its price cut by $2000 to $36,990 drive-away, making it the most affordable EV in Australia with a driving range of over 400 kilometres per charge.

That also makes the Extended Range just $1000 more than the Standard Range, which remains Australia’s cheapest EV outright at $35,990 drive-away – for reference, the Standard Range offers 310km of range, the Extended Range has 420km.

Reduced prices offered on the GWM Ora are available now. Contact a dealer via CarExpert for the best deal or call our Concierge team on 1300 587 992.

Further up the range, the 2024 GWM Ora GT has been discounted by $1000 to $43,990 drive-away.

Both the Ora Extended Range and GT use the same 63kWh ternary lithium battery pack compared to the Standard Range’s smaller 48kWh lithium-ion unit, and are powered by a 126kW/250Nm electric motor on the front axle.

Standard equipment across the range includes dual 10.25-inch displays, power adjustable front seats, and surround parking cameras; while the GT adds sportier styling and items like a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate and an automated parking assistant.

Despite being Australia’s most affordable new electric vehicle, the GWM Ora hasn’t taken off on the sales charts the same way some of its rivals have.

GWM has registered 675 Ora units year to date as of July 31, and while that’s 453.3 per cent up on the same period in 2023 it trails behind the BYD Dolphin (1913 units) and MG 4 (3078 units).

The Ora is covered by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, eight-year battery warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five years of capped-price servicing.
