The Ram 1500 TRX is being farewelled with a Final Edition, now on sale in Australia as the V8-powered performance pickup’s limited-run swansong.
Its Australian arrival comes eight months after the Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition’s US unveiling, and just one day after its twin-turbo six-cylinder successor in the 1500 RHO was revealed.
Priced from $249,950 before on-road costs, the Final Edition is $25,000 more than the TRX upon which it is based, though all 130 Australian-delivered examples feature extra and unique equipment compared to the already loaded pick-up.
This includes bead-lock capable 18-inch wheels finished in Satin Titanium, with the colourway carrying across to the bonnet and tailgate badging.
A choice of three Final Edition-exclusive colours are available – Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue and Harvest Sunrise.
Inside, the TRX Final Edition features Patina stitching on its dashboard and seats, which also have an embroidered TRX logo on the seat back, as well as Triaxle-suede door panel inserts and matte carbon fibre weave on the instrument panel, doors, console and steering wheel.
The TRX’s centre console now has a badge showing its build number, while the passenger-side dashboard badge is also finished in Satin Titanium.
Upon turning on its ignition, the Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition’s digital instrument cluster displays a unique screen, only available on the last-run pick-up.
Under the skin, there’s no changes to the 6.2-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine, continuing to produce 523kW of power and 882Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system, allowing the three-tonne pickup to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Ram Trucks Australia is yet to confirm whether the Ram 1500 RHO will come to local showrooms.
