Suzuki Australia has introduced drive-away pricing for the Jimny, having secured extra supply of the popular off-roader.

The range opens at $34,990 drive-away for the base Lite, topping out at $41,990 drive-away for the Jimny XL auto.

Previously, drive-away pricing differed from state-to-state.

UPDATE, 18/07/2024 – Suzuki Queensland has confirmed it isn’t following the new drive-away pricing announced yesterday by Suzuki Australia.

Queensland still features different pricing, as the brand has a different distributor for the Sunshine State.

“Suzuki Queensland has not moved to a drive-away cost pricing schedule for Jimny at this point, instead leaving the ultimate figure to negotiation between Jimny purchasers and dealerships,” said a spokesperson for Suzuki Queensland.

“This is particularly due to the historic, extensive personalisation of Jimny vehicles resulting from their far more frequent off-road use in Queensland due to easy accessibility of island and mainland beaches and outback driving.

“However, all matters relating to pricing are continuously under review and should there be any change, Suzuki Queensland will advise you forthwith.”

The current Jimny arrived in 2019, and demand outstripped supply for a long time leading to substantial waits. Suzuki even had to pause orders for the three-door auto model as wait times ballooned.

“Whilst wait times still apply, we are consistently succeeding in securing greater production in 2024, which means more customers can get behind the wheel of their new Jimny sooner!” said Suzuki Australia automotive general manager Michael Pachota.

Suzuki Australia has confirmed that while buyers of the Jimny XL five-door are looking at waits of 1-3 months, buyers of three-door models were facing longer waits.

The manual has waits of 3-5 months, while the auto has waits of 6-8 months.

Wait times are subject to colour availability, with two-tone models facing longer waits than those with single-tone exteriors.

Mr Pachota confirmed in June the XL could face waits more like those of the three-door as the early allocation tapers off. The five-door model only arrived here late in 2023.
