This features the 49.92kWh Blade battery of last year’s Standard Range model, but loses some features – like a panoramic sunroof and wireless phone charger – to bring the cost of entry down to just $39,990 before on-road costs.

The Extended Range variant has also received a $2509 price cut, though it hasn’t lost any features.

BYD has confirmed the Atto 3 now has BYD Digital Key functionality, allowing you to unlock your car using your mobile phone.

BYD backs the Atto 3’s high-voltage battery with an eight-year, 160,000km warranty with a state of health equal to or more than 70 per cent.
