Honda Australia has detailed the upcoming 2025 HR-V, headlined by the introduction of a new entry-level hybrid variant, more safety kit, as well as minor styling tweaks inside and out.

Due in Australian showrooms “soon”, Honda has confirmed three model grades will be offered, including the e:HEV X – a new base hybrid variant that will sit between the existing Vi X and flagship e:HEV L.

The facelifted new HR-V brings a slightly revised front grille which is now more squared-off than the SUV which has been on sale in Australia for just over two years, as well as tweaked tail light graphics.

Drivers benefit from an expanded suite of driver assists, which now includes traffic jam assist and adaptive driving beam for e:HEV variants, adjusting the beam of the headlights to avoid dazzling oncoming motorists.

Honda also claims to have made improvements to the HR-V’s lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision avoidance systems.

Honda Connect now comes standard across the range, offering smartphone access to car data such as fuel levels and live location. A five-year subscription to the service is included with any purchase of a HR-V.

Two new exterior colours join the palette – Slate Grey Pearl and Botanical Green Pearl.

Inside, the updated HR-V – sold as the Vezel in its home market of Japan – brings a more pronounced storage tray underneath the climate controls, as well as a wireless charging pad.

HR-V owners are required to service their cars every 12 months or 10,000km, with the first five services capped at $199 each.

Last year, Honda sold 2182 HR-Vs in Australia, making it less popular than its CR-V and ZR-V stablemates in the Honda SUV range.
