The Hyundai i30 N may have been discontinued in Europe, but the Czech-built hot hatch lives on for Australia due to our love of performance vehicles.
It’s been treated to a minor update for 2025, which is due here in August. While there are no mechanical changes, there are various new features as well as minor aesthetic updates.
Pricing has yet to be announced for Australia.
There’s a new matte grey finish for the 19-inch forged wheels, a revised grille, and red trim on the side skirts and front bumper inserts.
There are also changes to the badging: the Hyundai logo is matte black at the rear, while there’s a “flat-style” logo up front on the grille.
Inside, it gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster like the i30 Sedan N, which can display turbo boost gauges, a g-force meter and a lap timer.
The steering wheel features a red N Grin Shift button, as seen on the i30 Sedan N, which “unleashes the maximum power and torque, an unbridled exhaust note, and the most aggressive gear shifts” for 20 seconds at a time.
There are updated front bucket seats, which are finished in suede, leather and Alcantara, as well as a gloss black finish around the gear shift.
There’s a USB-C outlet up front plus two in the rear, while all i30 N hatchbacks feature rain-sensing wipers and an electrochromatic mirror as standard.
The suite of safety technology has also been upgraded. The autonomous emergency braking system, which uses both radar and a windshield-mounted camera, can now detect cyclists in addition to cars and pedestrians.
The i30 N also gains intelligent speed limit assist and a rear occupant alert.
The hot hatch is also the latest vehicle to gain Hyundai Bluelink connected car services and over-the-air software updates.
Australia is the only market globally to offer all members of the Hyundai N range: the i20 N, i30 N, i30 Sedan N and Ioniq 5 N.
