The new-generation Hyundai Palisade is set to get fresh looks which could prove as controversial as those of the recently redesigned Santa Fe.

Images shared by South Korean publication Autospy show the Palisade wearing more revealing camouflage than previously seen, previewing vertically oriented headlights and tail lights which adopt the pixel-like style seen on the electric Ioniq 5.

This is different from the more complex light patterns seen on the new Santa Fe, however the Palisade looks to be following its fellow three-row SUV’s path of featuring increasingly boxy exterior bodywork.

As well as featuring integrated roof rails, the spied Palisade sports gloss black wheel arch trim, rather than the matte grey or body-coloured elements of the current model.

Though Hyundai is yet to make any official announcements, reports from South Korea last year claimed the new Palisade will no longer be available with its existing 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel and 3.8-litre V6 petrol engines.

Instead, a pair of turbo-petrol offerings will power the large SUV, with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid and a 3.5-litre V6 to replace the current drivetrains.

Reports have also suggested the Palisade is set to become even larger, providing more space for second- and third-row occupants.

Hyundai has sold more than 2000 Palisades in Australia so far this year, though its popularity is down by about 12 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.

By comparison, 3072 Santa Fes were sold between January and July, while the Toyota Kluger notched up 5861 sales.
