The 2025 Kia EV6 GT was spied testing in Germany recently, marking our first look at the highest-performance version of the electric vehicle (EV) since the facelifted model for the model was revealed earlier this year.

While camouflage hides its exterior appearance, it’s expected the Kia EV6 GT will adopt the standard car’s more aggressive headlight signature and bumpers at both ends.

As previously reported by overseas publication Carscoops, the new EV6 GT is expected to share similar performance tech to its cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, though specific changes are yet to be announced.

The Ioniq 5 N produces 448kW of power and 740Nm of torque – or 478kW/770Nm with its N Grin Boost function enabled – from its dual electric motors, which represents an 18kW increase on the current EV6 GT.

It’s reported the Kia EV6 GT won’t get the Hyundai’s full outputs with N Grin Boost activated.

When the regular EV6 was facelifted in South Korea earlier this year, it debuted a larger 84kWh battery – up from 77kWh – which could be passed onto the flagship GT and allow it to mirror the Ioniq 5 N.

Interior updates for the EV6 lineup included a revised dash to house the single-piece panel for the instrument display and infotainment screen, as well as updated steering wheel designs, a digital rear-view mirror, and an upgraded 12.0-inch head-up display.

It’s not yet known whether GT-specific touches such as its lime green accents will continue across to the facelifted model, however exterior photos show bright colours remain on the brake calipers.

The EV6 launched in 2021 and arrived in Australia in 2022, with the flagship performance GT variant following in 2023.

While Kia hasn’t increased prices of the EV6 in South Korea, but it remains to be seen whether it will do the same in Australia.

Pricing and local specifications will be announced closer to the EV6’s launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, with the EV6 GT expected to follow next year.
