The Kia EV6 is getting a mid-life update, with a fresh face and expected upgrades to its technology.
It’s expected to be revealed this year.
Helpfully, the engineers parked the refreshed EV6 next to a pre-update model so we can better compare the differences.
The headlights appear to sit lower and have a more triangular shape, while we also expect changes to have been made to the front bumper.
While there’s still camouflage down back, from what we can see changes are more minor. The swoopy tail light assembly remains, albeit potentially with slightly different graphics, and there’s likely a restyled bumper.
While we can’t see inside the cabin, we expect the EV6 to be the next Kia to adopt the new ccNC infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Kia Australia has previously confirmed the Kia Connect suite of connected services, which allows for remote access of vehicle functions
Under the skin, the updates could mirror those applied to the related Hyundai Ioniq 5, which shares the dedicated electric E-GMP architecture.
The Ioniq 5 Extended Range has swapped out its 77.4kWh battery for a larger 84kWh unit, though Hyundai has yet to confirm updated range figures.
Hyundai also made some tweaks to reduce noise and vibration, while also including the latest versions of the Hyundai Motor Group’s lane-keep assist and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
The EV6 entered production in 2021, arriving here in 2022. The flagship GT followed in 2023.
In GT guise, it ostensibly serves as a replacement for the defunct Stinger, stepping into the role of Kia’s performance halo model.
