2025 Leapmotor C10 EV sized like a Tesla Model Y but priced like a BYD Atto 3

The Leapmotor C10 will be the Chinese brand’s first model in Australia, arriving in November with two sharply priced variants.

Leapmotor and Stellantis – parent of Jeep and Fiat – joined forces earlier this year, establishing a joint venture called Leapmotor International to help launch the Chinese brand into new markets.

A Stellantis spokesperson has confirmed to CarExpert that both C10 variants will be priced below $50,000 before on-road costs.

For context, the BYD Atto 3 is priced from $44,499 to $47,499 before on-road costs, while the most affordable Tesla Model Y – even after recent price cuts – starts at $55,900 before on-road costs.

Additionally, Leapmotor will give C10 buyers one year of free charging via the Chargefox network if they take delivery of their vehicle before March 31, 2025.

Leapmotor Australia will announce its dealership plans in October, but plans to have locations nationwide.

It’ll back its vehicles with a seven-year, 160,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year, 160,000km battery warranty.

Drivetrains

The C10 features a single, rear-mounted electric motor with 160kW of power and 320Nm of torque. It’s rear-wheel drive.

Efficiency

Leapmotor claims it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30 to 80 per cent using DC power.

It also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing you to power external appliances.

Dimensions

The C10 is dimensionally very similar to the Tesla Model Y.

For context, the Model Y measures 4751mm long, 1978mm wide and 1624mm tall on a 2890mm wheelbase.

Leapmotor says the C10 has 26 storage spaces inside the cabin, while the seats fold 180 degrees.

Servicing and Warranty

The C10 is backed by a seven-year, 160,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year, 160,000km high-voltage battery warranty.

Service pricing has yet to be announced.

Safety

While Leapmotor boasts on its various websites and social media pages that the C10 has a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, the safety authority has yet to publish its result.
