The 2025 MG Cyberster has landed in Australia, with pricing for the convertible sports car announced.

Priced from $115,000 before on-road costs, the MG Cyberster is well and truly the brand’s dearest model to be sold in Australia, surpassing the Ford V8-powered ZT 260 which was listed at $89,990 plus on-roads 20 years ago.

It also marks the beginning of a new niche segment, becoming the first electric convertible to go on sale in Australia, though Porsche will soon give its Boxster battery power and Maserati is introducing its GranCabrio Folgore. Both are expected to be more expensive than the MG, though.

Unlike other markets where the MG Cyberster is available with two different battery sizes and with either rear- or all-wheel drive, the electric convertible will only be sold here in its most powerful – and well-equipped – guise.

This means a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain capable of producing up to 375kW and 725Nm, enough to propel the Cyberster from 0-100km/h in a claimed time of 3.2 seconds.

It also features the largest battery pack available to the global lineup, with the 77kWh unit delivering up to 443km of driving range on the WLTP test cycle.

Deliveries of the MG Cyberster are now starting in Australia.
