A P-plater’s dramatic smash on a Queensland motorway has been caught on camera, after they were braked checked by another motorist who they’d been tailgating.
On June 26th, a Mazda 3 driver was recorded driving close behind a Subaru Outback on the Bruce Highway.
Footage of the entire incident, shared by Dash Cam Owners Australia via their Facebook page, shows that as Mazda went to pass the Subaru it had been closely following, the latter applied the brakes.
Travelling at more than 100km/h and having to suddenly swerve, the Mazda’s driver lost control – and the truck behind it was unable to slow down in time to avoid a crash.
The Mazda slams into the front of the truck, before being ricocheted into another truck in the left lane which was seemingly unaware of the incident.
While the Subaru drove away from the scene of the crash, another motorist in a Toyota Camry slowed down to assist the P-plater.
According to the post, police are currently investigating the incident. No injuries were reported.
