Today, we are launching an upgraded CarExpert homepage, and we can’t wait to roll out updates across the news, reviews, comparisons and other sections of the site.
Since we launched our website in April 2020, we have focused our efforts on bringing a clean, crisp and enjoyable digital automotive experience to our readers.
Our focus was to build the largest new car-only website in the country and we are very much on our way there.
With over 2.8 million Australian visitors in July 2022 (source: SimilarWeb), our website has grown from nothing to the largest new car site (that doesn’t have used car classifieds) in the country.
It continues to grow month on month, thanks to in-market new car buyers researching and finding us on Google and the frequent visitors who help distribute our content and partake in the community that we have built once again.
We have grown our organic audience substantially and now provide content to all of Seven’s digital media assets, with a $10m+ advertising budget campaign set to launch on TV in late September.
With our redesign, we have taken into account the regular car buyer as the default audience for the new homepage, while also creating a better experience for our expert readers and enthusiasts. In essence, we want our website to work for you regardless of what kind of reader you are.
The new homepage brings our new car research tools and our sold price report to the forefront of a visitor’s journey when they come to CarExpert.
It will also – perhaps most importantly to those of you reading this – allow you to switch the site to ‘Expert Mode’ with a button located right at the top of the homepage (and also in the news and profile section).
This puts news back up top in a cleaner and more bold format, and better serves those that read the site daily to get the best news coverage of the Australian automotive industry.
We are aware of some minor bugs in this initial launch version of the website and are actively looking to roll out fixes in the next few days.
Nevertheless, we are also looking for feedback, bug reports and other comments regarding the update.
Light and dark mode can still be activated via the profile button and we encourage regular visitors to sign into the website (it’s free) to make sure their preferences are always saved.
The change to the homepage will be followed by a sitewide design update across our news, reviews, comparisons, showrooms, best cars and other sections of the site as we look to better integrate our new products and partners.
From all of us at CarExpert, thank you for your continued support and for helping us grow.
