A group of climate change protesters have targeted Tesla’s electric Cybertruck pickup in a bizarre protest in Germany.
Footage uploaded to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) shows at least two activists pouring orange paint over a Cybertruck in a Tesla showroom.
The pair unfurl a banner which reads “Gepanzert in die katastrophe” – translated to “armoured in the catastrophe”.

Make it make sense…

German protest group Letzte Generation (Last Generation) took responsibility for the protest.
“The Cybertruck weighs almost three tonnes, so its enormous weight means it consumes an absurdly high amount of energy. Senseless waste that we as a society cannot afford,” the protest group said in a translated post on X.
“Add to that the sharp-edged construction: a safety disaster. The truck perfectly illustrates where the anti-social policies of the last few decades have led us: a few rich people drive well-armoured into the disaster – and take everyone with them.
“We want to gather with as many people as possible and make it clear: we will not take part in this! We need honesty and appropriate political responses to the climate catastrophe.”
The protest comes amid increasing tension between Tesla and the electric vehicle (EV) giant’s opponents in Germany, as the company continues to push for its factory near Berlin to be expanded.
In May, approximately 800 people from the Disrupt Tesla protest group attempted to storm the Grünheide factory, but were held back by police.
Several protestors were taken into custody and an undisclosed number of participants were treated for injuries.
It’s also not the first time we’ve seen protests against an electric pickup, after members of the Extinction Rebellion (also known as XR) activist group poured oil on a Ford F-150 Lightning during a presentation at the New York motor show in April.
