Renault’s budget Dacia brand has teased the production version of its new Bigster SUV, and it’s expected to come to Australia.
Obscured images of the seven-seat Bigster were published to Instagram by Dacia France, providing a sneak peak of the model which will make its international debut next week at the Paris motor show.
The 90th edition of the Paris motor show will be held from October 14-20, displaying a wide range of new vehicles.

In addition to the smaller Dacia Duster SUV, CarExpert understands the Bigster could reach Australian shores in mid-2025 wearing Renault badging.
Independent distributor Ateco is responsible for Renault in Australia, after the French manufacturer packed up its local operation in 2021.
Renault Australia has gone on the record as wanting to bring the two Dacia SUVs Down Under.
“We’ve got our hand up for certain products in the Dacia range. Duster is one of those, and so too is Bigster,” general manager of Renault Australia, Glen Sealey, told CarExpert last year.
“Our role as importer is to pick the products that are right for Australia. And, in that case, under the Renault brand.”
Built on Renault’s CMF-B platform, the Bigster is expected to share components with the Duster and be similarly sized to a Nissan X-Trail.
Mechanical specifications haven’t yet been revealed but the Bigster could inherit powertrains from the Duster, which is sold in the UK with a choice of two engines: a 1.2-litre turbocharged mild-hybrid three-cylinder, and a 1.6-litre hybrid four-cylinder.
Distinctive visual features of the Bigster concept include Y-shaped exterior lighting elements, recycled plastic protective guards, and an angular body with squared off ends.
