Can’t afford the $5 million Lamborghini Sian? If you’re happy to settle for two wheels and a power to weight ratio that outmatches its supercar partner, the Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini might be for you.
Powered by Ducati’s new Euro 5-compliant 1262cc Testastretta V-twin, it lays down a very decent 120kW at 9500rpm and 125Nm of torque at 7500rpm.
Ducati labels this bike as a ‘power cruiser’ but, weighing in at 220kg, it has a power-to-weight ratio of 545kW per tonne – versus the Lamborghini Sian’s power-to-weight ratio of 401kW/tonne.
Based on the Diavel 1260, Ducati redesigned numerous parts of the 1262cc machine as a nod to the Raging Bull’s hypercar. Changes include exclusive carbon trim for the exhaust, seat cover, mud guards, headlight trim, dashboard, and tank cover.
The exclusive motorcycle will be limited to just 630 units in reference to 1963, the year Lamborghini was born.
Ducati has not confirmed pricing, but early estimates place it in the region of $40,000. It remain to be seen whether any of the 630 units will ever make their way Down Under.
