The well-known trio have reportedly filmed their last episode of the Amazon Prime series The Grand Tour. The final episodes will air in 2024.
The final episode of The Grand Tour starring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May has reportedly finished filming in Zimbabwe.
The BBC News reports Amazon Prime is exploring a new spin on the show, which may not feature the trio.
The show first aired in 2016 and since then has delivered five seasons. The final episode, filmed in Africa, is expected to air sometime in 2024.
BBC News reports it has approached Amazon Prime and three presenters for a comment but is yet to hear back.
The three presenters moved to the network from BBC’s Top Gear. Mr Clarkson left the show in 2015 after he reportedly punched a producer.
Mr Hammond and Mr May followed him in leaving the BBC, and in 2016, the three presenters started The Grand Tour.
Reuters reports in 2018 the first season of The Grand Tour was Amazon’s best performing original series.
Subsequently each host also earned their own shows with Amazon, including James May: Our Man in Italy, Richard Hammond’s Big, and Clarkson’s Farm.
The news comes just days after the BBC announced it decided to rest the orignal Top Gear after an accident with host Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff.
According toThe Sun, Mr Flintoff recently agreed on a £9 million (A$17 million) settlement from the BBC.
Paramount+ and BBC Studios Australia announced the local spinoff of the Top Gear series is returning in 2024, starring new hosts Blair Joscelyne, Beau Ryan and Jonathan LaPaglia.
