Isuzu Ute Australia has recalled 36,966 examples of the D-Max, after discovering a fault which could lead to a vehicle fire.
“The fuel delivery hose may have been installed incorrectly and come into contact with the engine oil level gauge bracket resulting in premature wear,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.
“Fuel may leak from a damaged hose and, in the presence of an external ignition source, result in a vehicle fire.
“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property.”

If you own an affected D-Max, Isuzu has advised you’ll be contacted in writing to schedule an appointment to have the fuel hose inspected and replaced, free of charge.
