Calling it an “inevitable” decision, Isuzu Ute Australia has become the latest company to announce range-wide price increases.

It’s increasing the list prices of its D-Max and MU-X by between $1000 and $1600, depending on the variant.

Isuzu currently offers nationwide drive-away pricing for just three model variants, and these prices have also been increased.

    Drive-away prices are up by $2000 for the D-Max SX single cab chassis 1.9-litre manual 4×2, the D-Max X-Terrain 4×4, and the MU-X LS-T 4×4.

But Isuzu is protecting prices for confirmed orders made prior to March 31, 2022, regardless of whether it’s planned for production or on a truck on its way to the dealership.

It has cited increased production and international and domestic transport and logistics costs as the reason for the price increase.

“The constantly-shifting global situation affecting production, transport and logistics costs has driven the need to increase pricing across the 22MY D-MAX and MU-X range—but this decision was not taken lightly with all options deeply considered,” said Isuzu Ute Australia sales and marketing director Koichiro Yoshida.

Isuzu says demand for its recently redesigned ute and SUV lines remains high but, while supply chains are being affected throughout the industry, it has no plans to delete features.

“In their respective classes, both the D-MAX and MU-X have earned a reputation for standardising the latest in features and safety technology, with IUA committed to continuing to supply the D-MAX and MU-X to customers as per the original specifications,” said a spokesperson for the company.

“IUA remains committed to delivering our vehicles completed, without compromise and without taking any shortcuts; a commitment to our customers who have expectations which we will always strive to meet and exceed.”
