Stellantis’ parts division Mopar has teased modified Jeep and Ram vehicles ahead of this year’s SEMA show.
The Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, or SEMA, will take place in Las Vegas on November 1-4, and this year marks the 85th anniversary of Mopar.
The teaser images reveal a Jeep concept and either one or two Ram-based concepts.
The Jeep concept will clearly feature some form of electrification based on its name alone, Surge.
Whether it’ll feature a 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain like the factory Wrangler or an electric powertrain like the previous Magneto concepts is unclear.
The two Ram teaser images may be of the same vehicle, with one showing the front of a 1500 and the other depicting a rear three-quarter view.
The front shot reveals what appears to be TRX-based model based on the lights within the scoop, and it’s finished in a distinctive black, grey and yellow paint job.
The rear shot shows a pale-coloured 1500 with what look like yellow and black stripes running down the side and a canopy that wraps over the side of the tub.
What we won’t see at this year’s SEMA is the seventh and final of the Dodge Last Call special editions, set to be another Challenger-based model.
Dodge cited supply issues as the reason for the cancellation. It’s unclear when the variant will be revealed.
Last year’s SEMA saw Stellantis reveal seven diverse concepts across three brands.
Dodge revealed a Challenger concept called the Holy Guacamole with various 1970s design cues inside and out, while Ram revealed two 1500 concepts: the practical Outdoorsman, with a two-height rack system for the tub, and the lairy RexRunner based on the supercharged V8 TRX.
Jeep’s concepts comprised a Wrangler 4xe concept loaded up with Jeep Performance Parts, a luxed-up Grand Cherokee L called the Breckenridge, and a Kaiser Jeep M725 restomod packing a 6.4-litre V8 crate engine.
Arguably the highlight of the septet was the Jeep Wrangler Overlook concept, a Wrangler with a longer body, three-rows of seating, and a raised roof with glass windows like an old Land Rover Discovery or Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser.
