Lamborghini has unveiled a special edition Urus designed specifically for owners of its 2020 Essenza SC-V12 Edition.
Only 40 units of the vehicle, alternately referred to as the Performante Special Edition and Essenza SCV12 Special Edition, will be produced for the 40 owners of the track-only Essenza SCV12.
The limited edition Urus Performante will receive aesthetic modifications, all overseen by Lamborghini’s Ad Personam department and decided in collaboration with each respective owner.
There are numerous carbon fibre elements across the body and interior, notably on the bonnet, roof, rocker covers, and mirrors.
The array of bespoke body colours available for owners to choose from, combined with the carbon fibre body elements, create a two-toned colour scheme that is accented with a contrasting line detail on the lower body and the roof arch.
Racing numbers are also painted onto the front doors to continue the track-inspired motif.
All special edition models will receive 23-inch high gloss black wheels and black brake calipers as standard, with further customisation options available.
In the cabin, Nero Cosmus black Alcantara upholstery is paired with leather details and matte or glossy carbon fibre elements depending on the owner’s preference.
Details including black anodized aluminium elements, contrasting red door handles, and the Essenza SCV12 logo adorning the kick plates all differentiate the special edition from the standard Performante.
Two carbon-fibre plaques will be included in the passenger compartment, one sporting the Lamborghini 60th Anniversary logo, and one with the vehicle owner’s name or unique vehicle number.
Unfortunately, the special edition won’t be powered by a V12 as the name may suggest.
Instead, it will have the Urus Performante’s standard 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produces 490kW of power (or 666 CV) and 850Nm of torque and is mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Although it’s not quite the 619kW of power from the Essenza’s V12 engine, the Urus Performante can still do the 0-100km/h dash in 3.3 seconds.
The Essenza SCV12 track-only car is powered by Lamborghini’s most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine and claims a power-to-weight ratio of 1.66hp/kg (1.24kW/kg).
“The Lamborghini Urus SC-V12 Edition is the most expressive and detailed livery we have ever created,” said Lamborghini’s Head of Design, Mitja Borkert.
“The exterior colour is directly linked with the exclusive colour of the (owners’) Essenza SC-V12.
“The result is a stormy, unique and colourful limited series of Urus.”
All production units have already been spoken for, and pricing hasn’t been revealed by Lamborghini but we can assume that it will be substantially less than the €2.2 million (AU$3.58 million) that owners had to fork out for the Essenza SCV12.
This special edition Urus to accompany their track supercar isn’t the only perk for the 40 very lucky Essenza SCV12 customers.
Back in 2020, all Essenza SCV12 owners were invited to become part of an “exclusive club” giving them access to programs allowing them to drive their hypercar on some of the most iconic race tracks around the world.
Owners also had the option to store their vehicle in a personalised garage with 24-hour surveillance via a smartphone app in a Sant’Agata Bolognese hangar.
