MG has upped prices on four of its seven models in Australia.
Prices are up by either $500 or $1000 on eight variants across the MG HS Plus EV, ZS, ZST, and MG 3 model lines. The prices listed below apply to 2021-built stock; 2022 stock will arrive in showrooms around April and carries further price changes.
The standard equipment lists on affected models is unchanged. Pricing for the ZS EV crossover remains unchanged, meaning it’s still Australia’s cheapest electric car with a sticker of $44,990 drive-away.
MG says the price changes are down to “unprecedented cost increases in raw materials and transport logistics in 2021”.
“Adjustments of between $500 and $1000 will be made to a number of 2021-built vehicles, while 2022-built vehicles will be adjusted by between $1000 and $2000. 2022-built stock will arrive from April 2022,” an MG Australia spokesperson told CarExpert.
“MG will maintain its current specification levels and continues to offer a seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, the certainty of Precise Price Servicing and the security of an Australia-wide dealer network,” the spokesperson said.
MG isn’t alone in upping its prices in Australia. Most brands have announced price increases for 2022 due to parts shortages, shipping challenges, and tight supply.
