Volvo Car Australia has recalled 47 vehicles across its S60, V60, XC60 and XC90 model lines due to a fault which can result in a loss of braking performance.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the brake pedal rod may not have been fastened to the specified torque and could detach. If this occurs, it can result in a reduction in braking performance and/or a loss of vehicle control,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.
“Note: the parking brake can still be used to stop the vehicle.
“A reduction in braking performance and/or a loss of vehicle control could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
