Ever tried to fit in where you don’t belong? The driver of this Nissan Armada in the U.S. has.

A video posted to TikTok shows the driver of the full-size SUV – the North American version of the Patrol – trying to make their way through a tree that is more than 3000 years old.

Avenue of the Giants is a popular tourist destination in northern California, and there are three redwood trees that you can drive through – provided your vehicle isn’t too large, and you have the skill to avoid scraping the sides.

The opening of the Shrine tree is 2.1m wide, so the Armada – just shy of 2m in width – should have been able to fit without any damage.

The video shows the driver moving the hefty SUV side to side to avoid hitting the inside of the tree, but failing.

The Armada emerges with a damaged side-mirror but otherwise appears unscathed.

It appears the accomplishment of passing through the tree called for mild celebration, with the driver throwing their hands in the air and clapping.

Commenters on the post suggest the vehicle may be a rental. If that’s the case, the driver will have had some explaining to do back at the rental counter.
