The two occupants of a Tesla Model S which crashed into two cars and plunged off the roof of a Sydney carpark are lucky to be alive, with footage of the dramatic incident posted online.
Dashcam footage obtained by 9 News Sydney shows a Tesla Model S crashing into a Toyota LandCruiser Prado and subsequently the camera car on the roof of a carpark at DFO Homebush.
A third bang can be heard, which was later revealed to be the car hitting the metal barrier at the end of the roof top, with the circa-2000kg vehicle penetrating the barrier, plunging off the roof, and landing in the loading dock below.

The news outlet captured the damage suffered by the Tesla, with its left-front wheel ripped off and roof partially caved in from the impacts.
Thankfully neither of the vehicle’s occupants were seriously injured, with both taken to hospital to treat minor injuries.
New South Wales Police reportedly towed the Tesla to a garage for an ‘electronics check’ to determine the cause of the crash.
Reports from other publications claiming that its ‘Autopilot’ semi-autonomous driving system was engaged haven’t been substantiated.
