The Pagani Huayra hypercar is nearing its 14th birthday, almost old enough to get a driver’s licence in some countries, but it’s been without a manual transmission throughout its decade-plus life.

That is until now, with the reveal of the Huayra Epitome, a bespoke build which finally mates its twin-turbo V12 engine with a manual transmission.

However, we’ve got some bad news if you’re wanting to rush to your nearest Pagani dealer to place an order – the Huaya Epitome is a one-off, commissioned by a presumably rich customer for an unpublished sum.

Pagani leant on the transmission expertise of British firm Xtrac to convert Huayra’s automated seven-speed gearbox into a true manual, while retaining its triple-disc clutch and electronically-controlled differential.

The AMG-built 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine produces 635kW of power and 1100Nm of torque, hitting the rev limiter at 6700rpm and capable of propelling the Huayra Epitome to an electronically limited top speed of 350km/h.

Other Epitome-specific changes to the Huayra include bold bodywork – with more pronounced front and rear bumpers – as well as unique daytime running lights on the outside of its front air intakes.

At the rear there’s also a Huayra R-inspired wing, which has been designed to not only improve the Huayra’s aerodynamic performance but also elevate its aesthetics, though we’ll let you be the judge of the latter.

Pagani has made further changes under the skin, developing a revised suspension package claimed to reduce dive in acceleration, pitch in braking, and roll in corners, providing all four tyres with maximum grip at all times.

A new ‘super soft’ button has been installed to make the hypercar’s active suspension more compliant, though this is deactivated when driving at more than 150km/h.
