Ram Trucks Australia has recalled 2612 examples of the DT-generation 1500 pickup, due to a fault that can stop the vehicle’s indicators from auto-cancelling or its high-beam lights from activating.

“Due to a software issue in the steering column control module (SCCM), the turn signal lever may not cancel when the steering wheel is rotated or switched off manually,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“This could lead to a non-cancelling indicator and/or high beams activating.

“If the turn signal indicators do not operate as intended, other road users may be unable to identify if the vehicle is turning. This could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to the rider and/or other road users.”
