We know parking in New York City can be stressful, but talk about an over-reaction!
A man whose Chevrolet Silverado was being towed for being illegally parked has lashed out, scuffling with the tow truck driver before stealing his truck.
Not only that, in his haste in escaping, he wiped out his own pickup.
In footage shared by News 12 BK, we can see the carnage which took place on Saturday, September 7 in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of Sunset Park.

In the video, we can see two men scuffling – a man in a grey t-shirt and shorts, understood to be the tow truck driver, and an older man in a black t-shirt in jeans.
The Silverado appears to be connected to the tow truck, which was removing it from its position in front of a building’s service doors.
The video then jumps ahead to the tow truck speeding away the wrong way down the one-way street, with the Silverado not properly secured and its driver’s door opened.
The door is bent back within seconds of the truck driving off as it strikes a Toyota RAV4.
The wayward Silverado then strikes a Toyota Highlander (Kluger), Nissan Rogue Sport (Qashqai), Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and a Honda Civic.
Footage shared on YouTube by repodaddy82caddy shows the view from inside the tow truck, capturing more of the altercation between the two men. The alleged thief can be heard saying, “Nobody’s taking this truck from me!”
It also reveals what happens after the thief rounds the corner onto another street.
It falls off the back of the tow truck and starts to roll over before it strikes a parked Kia Sorento and lands back on all four wheels, looking decidedly worse for wear.
Another video, taken from the building in front of which the Silverado was illegally parked, shows the first vehicle to be struck by the errant pickup had somebody getting in or out of it at the time.
The New York Post reports the tow truck thief abandoned the truck a block or so away and fled on foot. Police are reportedly still looking for the man.
