The Jeep Avenger, the US brand’s first electric vehicle (EV) to be sold in Australia, has been handed a price cut of up to $4000 across the board just weeks before local deliveries begin.
Initially due to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2024 (October to December), the first examples of the Jeep Avenger will be delivered to customers throughout this month, with each variant now with at least $3000 knocked off its list price.
Now starting from $49,990 before on-road costs, the entry-level Jeep Avenger Longitude is $4000 less expensive and dips just under the $50,000 barrier, while importantly moving further away from the $55,900 Tesla Model Y which remains Australia’s best-selling EV.
The Jeep Avenger base model’s new Australian pricing puts it between the BYD Seal Dynamic ($49,888) and the MG 4 Long Range ($50,990).

Mid-range Avenger Limiteds are now priced from $54,990 before on-road costs, while the flagship Summit is $60,990 plus on-roads.
Jeep Australia hasn’t detailed why the price cuts have been handed down, however the past few months have seen EV deliveries slow down in Australia, with July sales figures falling by 1.5 per cent compared to the same month last year.
It’s not the brand’s first model to have its prices slashed, with the updated Wrangler as well as the Grand Cherokee and Gladiator receiving substantial reductions this year – largely following significant increases in recent years.
While the Avenger is Jeep’s first EV in Australia, it’s expected to bring the larger and more rugged Recon to the local market next, followed by the luxury Wagoneer S.
