Ever been stuck on the work site with nothing but time on your hands? Why not turn your first row of seats into a comfortable-ish bed.

That’s the feature available in the Ford F-150 pickup truck, which launches in Australia later this year.

The Max Recline feature allows the operator to lift up the second row of seating, which allows the first row of seats to fully recline.

When fully reclined, the top section of the seat can also be lifted to create a flat section that connects with the head rest.

It may not be the last word in luxury bedding, but it comes close enough for its intended purpose.

Orders for the Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado-rivalling Ford F-150 pickup have now opened ahead of first arrivals in the third quarter of this year. It’s unclear the Max Recline seat will be available for the Australian market.

The F-150 range starts at $106,950 before on-road costs for the XLT SWB in Australia, and extends to $140,945 before on-roads for the Lariat LWB. You can read about the full Ford F-150 pricing and specifications here.

The first batch of vehicles set to be remanufactured from left- to right-hand drive is now on a boat to Australia from Dearborn, Michigan.
