A naturally aspirated V12-powered, manual hypercar created by an ex-Bugatti and Koenigsegg designer sounds like a dream, but new brand Nilu27 is making that a reality.
The NILU hypercar uses a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine with 798kW of power and 860Nm of torque, developed in partnership with Hartley Engines in New Zealand.
The engine also features 12 large, individual throttle bodies for instant throttle response.
The exhaust and intake positions are also swapped around, which the company says improves packaging, heat extraction and aesthetics.
The NILU features a carbon-fibre monocoque with lightweight, aluminum-alloy tubular subframes.
It employs double wishbone, pushrod suspension, and rides on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres – 265/35 R20 up front, 325/30 R21 at the rear – wrapped around centre-lock wheels produced by AppTech in Italy.
Stopping is provided by a carbon-ceramic braking system sourced from Brembo, including the firm’s highest-performance CCM-R Plus rotors.
Nilu27 says it prides itself on a commitment to manual and analogue engineering. The new hypercar, available exclusively with a seven-speed manual transmission, features an analogue instrument cluster and only one screen: the rear-view mirror.
The interior is simple, lacking even steering wheel buttons.
The hypercar will make its public debut at Pebble Beach during Monterey Car Week on August 15, 2024, with only 15 prototype vehicles available to select customers.
In addition to its 15-car launch edition of the NILU, the new company is developing a street homologated version, limited to 54 units.
The hypercar is also set to debut in mobile racing game CSR Racing 2 in November.
Nilu27 was founded by Sasha Selipanov – former chief designer of Koenigsegg – and Inna Selipanov.
The company promises its first hypercar will have a “raw, unfiltered, uncensored driving experience”.
The brand first made its presence known on Instagram in May 2024, with initial photos of the vehicle posted to its social media.
