A Swedish car dealer has posted footage of what may be the most bizarre case of damage caused to vehicles while not on the road.
BMW specialist Schmiedmann Sweden recently had an unwelcome visitor to one of its workshops – a moose.
Video posted to YouTube shows the moose panicking in the garage, then climbing onto and damaging a pair of 1990s E31 BMW 8 Series coupes and an E36 3 Series.

Damage to the cars includes dented panels and major paint deformations, however, no individuals were hurt in the incident.
Despite the inconvenience, the dealership was able to joke about the experience, suggesting it was a variation of Europe’s famed moose test, in which cars swerve at speed to test how well they can handle avoiding a 700kg mammal on the road.
Though cars being damaged by a moose while being parked is a rarity, hitting one on the open road isn’t. More than 5000 incidents involving cars and the antlered animals are reported in Sweden every year.
