BMW has sponsored and organised the iconic Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este classic car event in Italy for a number of years now and for 2023 it plans to reveal at least two new vehicles there.
The 2023 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este will take place from May 19 to 21 at Lake Como in Italy. The event has been running since 1929.
At last year’s event BMW M was celebrating its 50th anniversary and unveiled the lighter, more hardcore M4 CSL.
The first of the vehicles to be revealed at this year’s event is being referred to as a “new all-electric M Performance model of the BMW 7 Series“.
It’s likely this is the high-performance i7 M70 that was mentioned in the new 7 Series and i7 reveal in April last year.
BMW has confirmed this high-performance i7 will be revealed in an exclusive two-tone livery.
It’s unclear how much power and torque the i7 M70 will make at this stage but it could share the iX M60‘s dual-motor setup that produces 455kW of power and 1100Nm of torque.
The second vehicle to be revealed at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganze Villa d’Este is exclusively being referred to as an “elegantly sporty, one-off homage to motoring for two”.
It’s unclear if this vehicle will be a concept car or a bespoke model made specifically for a wealthy client.
There will likely be more teasers and information about these two BMW models in the weeks leading up to the event.
Other BMW vehicles confirmed to be in attendance include the revived BMW 3.0 CSL, as well as an original 3.0 CSL from 1973.
Mini will also show off the all-electric Cooper SE Convertible, and Rolls-Royce will show off the Spectre electric grand tourer.
The former of these vehicles is a European-only model, and the latter is due to arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2023.
As noted above, the 2023 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este will take place from May 19 to 21 at Lake Como in Italy.
