A US YouTube star is facing a 10-year prison sentence after uploading a video that depicted his Lamborghini being shot at with fireworks from a helicopter.
Alex Choi uploaded the since-deleted video, titled Destroying a Lamborghini with Fireworks, to YouTube last July.
In the video, the supercar is targeted by a helicopter while driving on the El Mirage Dry Lake Bed in California.
According to The Guardian, Mr Choi repeatedly pressed a button which said “fire missiles”, and the fireworks were deployed from the helicopter by two women.
It’s understood Mr Choi didn’t obtain any permits to film the video, resulting in the US Department of Justice charging him with “causing the placement of an explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft”.
If he’s convicted at his next court hearing on July 2, he could face the maximum penalty of up to 10 years in jail for the act.
It’s not the first time Mr Choi’s potentially illegal activities have been documented, after video of him pulling out in front of a motorcycle and nearly causing a collision with its rider was uploaded to YouTube in 2019.
