Britain's original MG marque may date back to 1924 but it was acquired in 2007 by China's giant state-owned SAIC Motor, which now also owns LDV/Maxus.

Historically known for classic compact sports cars and, more recently, sporty hatchbacks and sedans, MG now exclusively makes small to medium passenger cars and SUVs.

In Australia, the increasingly popular brand sells the MG3 light hatch, as well as the ZS small SUV, which has also been a top-seller in its class and is available in EV and more upmarket ZST guises too, plus the HS mid-size SUV (available with plug-in hybrid power), the MG5 small sedan and small MG4 electric hatch.
