About the Kia Stinger
Jack J purchased this Kia Stinger new for $65,000 (including all on-road costs). Jack J would buy this car again because: “The value and performance is insane. Engine is very strong for its weight and pulls from any gear and any revs. Handling is great for such a large car, doesn’t feel as heavy as it is. Technology level is massive”
How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.
The known Kia and Genesis sunroof issue has been dragging on for a while including the roof being replaced, but finally after numerous attempts is resolved. Several recalls for different things like interior door handles, door seals and other little things.
What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?
It’s been great overall as the car performs well, drives beautifully and is extremely comfortable. Despite a few issues, Kia have been keen to resolve, the car doesn’t skip a beat, and is reliable and easy to own and maintain
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
Kia has been great with helpful customer service; friendly and responsive. They have been keen to resolve any issues and liaise with the dealer and provide a loan car for when booked in. Can’t fault them with their customer service
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
Overall I’m happy with the massive level of inclusions for the money. Compared to the Kia Stinger in other markets, would’ve been good to see all-wheel drive, more engine choices and even the SOS modes.
Even auto stop start is something Australia misses out on.
What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?
I’m impressed with the overall performance and economy for a car of this weight especially. The low down torque is insane from 1300rpm. It pulls insanely hard from any revs.
The fuel economy is quite high for city driving but on highway it does even out a lot. I’ve managed as low as 8.0L per 100km.
What do you think of the technology in your car?
It has a long list of technology including semi-autonomous features such as auto steer and cameras everywhere. Some can be a bit over cautious. It really doesn’t have any features missing from a modern car. Really can’t complain
What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?
When driving the Stinger, can really tell it has had Australian-tuned suspension. It drives very smooth in comfort mode, very effortless. Sport mode can be very firm at times and a bit much for our roads. Maybe best for track use.
