Skoda’s three-pot small SUV is back.
The company has confirmed the Kamiq range will once again open locally with a turbocharged three-cylinder 85TSI variant, now wearing the 85TSI Style name.
Available to order now, the Kamiq 85TSI Style is priced at $37,990 drive-away and replaces the 110TSI Ambition manual as the entry point to the range.
UPDATE, 05/05/2022 4:50PM – Skoda Australia has confirmed blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert remain temporarily unavailable due to semiconductor shortages, as previously reported. Affected vehicle customers will receive a $350 discount.
The 110TSI Monte Carlo with the optional Travel Pack still misses out on blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, as well as the Canton sound system due to semiconductor shortages. Affected vehicle customers will receive an $800 discount.
Monte Carlo and Signature models produced from April onwards regain full LED headlights with Skoda’s Adaptive Front Light System and cornering functionality, but without front dynamic indicators.
Both the 110TSI Ambition manual and its dual-clutch automatic counterpart have now been axed locally. That also means all Kamiq models are now available exclusively with a dual-clutch transmission.
The surviving 110TSI Monte Carlo and 110TSI Signature have received a $1000 price increase, making them $41,990 and $42,990 drive-away, respectively.
The Kamiq 85TSI Style is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 85kW of power and 200Nm of torque. This is mated exclusively to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with drive sent to the front wheels only.
Kamiq 110TSI variants are also front-wheel drive and use a seven-speed dual-clutch, but are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 110kW and 250Nm.
Skoda claims the Kamiq 85TSI Style has a combined fuel economy figure of 5.4L/100km, whereas the Kamiq 110TSI variants have a claimed combined fuel economy figure of 5.6L/100km.

Like the wider Skoda range, the Kamiq is covered by the Czech brand’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
There are three-, five- and seven-year service packs available for all models, costing $800, $1500, and $2100, respectively.
Early in 2021, Skoda withdrew the three-cylinder 85TSI, announcing it had sold out of the model. It was replaced by the now-defunct 110TSI Ambition.
“Overwhelming international sales and production restrictions mean there is little likelihood of re-supply before the end of 2021,” said a Skoda Australia spokesperson in March 2021.
The launch of the full Kamiq range was initially stalled by a stop-sale, which caused the launch of the 110TSI variants to be delayed until February 2021.
Taking on everything from the Mazda CX-3 and Volkswagen T-Cross to the Mitsubishi ASX and Kia Seltos, the Kamiq rides on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform which is used in the T-Cross, Skoda Scala, Volkswagen Polo and Audi A1.
